Tilted Kilt Facts

  • The original Tilted Kilt Concept was developed in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2003.
  • Let's Eat, Inc., owners Mark DiMartino, John Reynaud, and Shannon Reilly, opened the first one in the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas.
  • Ron Lynch of Tempe, Arizona, acquired the majority rights to the concept through a joint venture with the Let's Eat owners and developed the franchise concept.
  • The franchise system is operated by the Tilted Kilt Franchise Operating LLC, Tempe, Arizona.
  • The second store to open was the Tempe Tilted Kilt. It opened in the summer of 2005.
  • The third Tilted Kilt opened in Round Rock, Texas, an Austin suburb in late 2005.
  • A typical Tilted Kilt is about 6000 square feet in size.
  • The pubs are decorated with authentic Scottish, Irish, English and early American artifacts and artwork.
  • A full set of English armor stands in one corner of the Tempe Tilted Kilt.
  • More than 100 potential franchisees were lined up to receive information when the franchise concept was released on the market in March 2006.
  • The Tilted Kilt plaid or tartan is unique and is in the process of being registered with the World Tartan Registration office in Scotland.
  • The Scottsdale Tilted Kilt opened in June of 2006.
