Downtown San Diego has one of the biggest St. Patrick's
Day Parades in the country. So, if you're going to open an exciting new
sports pub there, it is probably a good idea to open on the 17th of March.
That is exactly what Bill Reynolds and the California Kilt company did
with their new franchise.
The
pub, located at 310 10th Ave., adjacent to PETCO Park, opened its doors
at 11 am on Monday, March 17, and folks were ready to party.
The number of Patty partiers quickly exceeded the limits of the building, resulting is a long line of new TK fans waiting for a while before they could get their green beer and CB&C.
"It far exceeded expectations," said Bill Reynolds, the managing partner in California Kilt. The group is the San Diego area developer for Tilted Kilt. They plan at least three more pubs in the area over the next five years.
The Tilted Kilt Hummer, an ancient combat vehicle wrapped in TK images, was on hand for the big parade and several TK cast members rode it in the parade. During and after the pararde, San Diego welcomed the new pub with plenty of toasts and good cheer.
